Laura started dancing and performing Colombian folklore since she can remember, with a focus on styles rooted in Afro influence and Latin culture. Over the years, she explored and performed various dance styles before falling in love with flamenco, where she sang and danced for four years.
During her college years, she discovered social dancing, which completely transformed her perspective. That was when she began diving deeply into salsa and bachata at Ile in Bogotá. After that experience, she dedicated herself to training as an instructor, with a special passion for working with beginners—firmly believing that everyone can dance. Through dance, she found healing, community, and a joyful, healthy activity that continues to challenge and inspire her every day.
She began teaching while still in high school, and after years of training, she decided to start teaching in Columbus in 2021. She started with private lessons and gradually expanded into group classes. In 2024, she became a co-founder of Columbus Latin Dance Academy—a space created to support dancers in growing, connecting, and celebrating their individual journeys.
